RE:"Seriously, the problem isn't that there aren't any GHz P3's now. The problem was that there weren't any around this summer. If you keep looking in a rear view mirror, your gonna get some surprises."

1 GHz P-IIIs are available now, and by Christmas you'll have no trouble getting one.

Burt,

Since I intend to buy a 1 GHz PIII this December, I'll be able to give you a more detailed report in about a month and a half. I'm sure you'll be delighted with the news.

Make sure you have a good AC or you live somewhere near the ocean (where you get the cool breeze), because if your CPU goes over 60 C, you may experience ... errr ... instability.

This CPU is a joke, and you can examine this document to find out why: support.intel.com

Do yourself a favor and get the 866 MHz part, or wait until Intel can produce a reliable 1 GHz CPU. Or, if you insist on 1 GHz, you may try the one from the competition.
