Death of DSL technologies hurt DELL and PC industry. The PC industry has prospered by always adding value to the product with add ons. HD of high and higher capacities, CD-ROM, dial up Modem, sound card, fax card, DVD.
When the time came for transforming the computer in a fast data terminal, (with the addon ADSL) it didn't happen. We should have had by now the consumer upgrading their PC's to make use of ADSL technologies that promised fast data transfers. That didn't happen. There is even a PC specific DSL flavor called G.Lite. It is dead.
See, please, "G.Lite Not Mass Market Delight"

The PC either becomes a fast data terminal or will be replaced by other terminal types. That doesn't augur well for DELL.
