bambs, Would you think that the pattern of selling into strength has been played out for too many days. My guess is that the selling may be exhausting itself. I sold some of my Nasdaq100 puts--betting that we won't get a repeat of the last few days. If the pattern does not hold and we rally into the close, i believe we will get a follow through tomorrow as well.

Still IBM is a bit of a worry (short).

Cisco is holding up pretty well....I would have expected more disappointment about no neutral statement...also, Dow is looking fairly constructive...has backed off of 10,600 pretty good..

I heard recently: In the last decade, nearly all of the Nasdaq gain has occurred between October 15-March 15 (of course, also meaning, almost none of the Nasdaq gain has occurred between March 15-October 15...additionally, I am referring to NET GAIN).....I haven't had a chance to check the accuracy of this, but it is well known that Nov-Jan is often good for the Naz...of course, past history doesn't ensure future results.., etc...but that indicates a pretty strong seasonal trend that we're riding into....
