As long as people are employed, and housing prices keep going up, people will feel economically secure, which is
usually a strong indication that the ruling party will retain the White House. Stocks are a distant third, as an indicator
of economic happiness (maybe not for posters here, but we are not a representative sample).

Jacob, Disagree. In the US many folks are getting sick looking at their aggressive 401K's. With non-investors you are right. With 401K and IRA folks you are wrong on this one. Gore needs those middle class investor votes to solidify his lead.
