How about you post these ideas of yours some place where you may find the agreement/confirmation of your views that you seem to so desperately seek? The 'approval' of others. Looks like you ain't getting it here <g>. I've begun to think that this place could be put to more productive use as a thread where people -- anyone -- can post when they disagree with others ... with an emphasis on investing, obviously, since that's ostensibly why we are all here in the first place. That's certainly why I'm here. An example: I disagree with Voltaire about RMBS. He seems to believe that RMBS is 'this year's QCOM.' I don't agree and these are the reasons: 1. With the news of Hyundai and MU lawsuits, the short term rocket rise changed. Immediately. Going into these typically rough months not even considering the tech massacre that we're now experiencing. 2. Having followed RMBS myself about three years now, and traded it several times during the Jan/Mar rocket rise, that run may very well not repeat -- ever again. Again, goes back to lawsuits. The stock split 4:1. Then comes new challenges to the RMBS patents, which may drag on for years. 3. In specifically disagreeing with Voltaire, the fact that I've read his posts for 6-8 months now tells me -- HE SAYS IT HIMSELF ALL THE TIME -- he does NOT do DD. Also, from reading his posts as so many have much longer than me, this poster seems from all indications to have a much larger net worth than I do. He can AFFORD to go for long shots, wstera. Can you? This is the sort of rough idea I'm thinking about that could work in this space. (But I have no intention of 'running it.' That's antithetical to my 'values' and motives for participating in Cyberspace message boards ... here or at any other site). People, IMO, need some place within SI to DISAGREE in an atmosphere where they aren't afraid of ostracization because they 'may say something to offend' the 'leader/s' of the threads. If we wish to 'curse,' I believe that we should be able to -- (now, the 'acceptable profanity research experiment' is CONTINUING with SI ... some is acceptable and some is not, but nothing has yet been better defined -- that's an update for you, Tim. The SI 'jury' is still out on this one <g>) -- without being labeled amoral <g>, anti-social right up to psychotic ... believe me, I've been arm-chair-analyzed by dozens of people who 'know me' strictly through written words from posts on Cyberspace message boards. You have become one of these people <g>. You actually don't know the first thing about me, wstera. And you are wasting your time trying to humiliate me. So: would you like to post something here now that may 'fit in' with such a theme that 'no one is right all the time?' I believe you use this language frequently in this defense of Voltaire. Got anything you might want to say along those lines this afternoon? Something that might actually contribute ideas that others could consider regarding their own investing during these rough times... Just a thought ... take it or leave it, wstera. b-i-a ###
