Hi all; DDoDDRN: VIA to compete with Nvidia in integrated DDR chipsets:

Paramount: Savage2000 or...?[3:42 am] Rat
According to a post at 3D Concept, VIA is planning to soon introduce new integrated North Bridges with Savage2000 graphics core. They claim that VIA will introduce a new S3 graphics core aka Paramount in its new KM266 DDR chipset and it will offer over 40% better graphics performance than the today’s KM133 integrated chipset. Besides, this chipset is said to be a direct competitor to the integrated North Bridges from NVIDIA, which are also a talk of the whole town currently. That was a bit from 3D Concept. On my part, I would like to share some other view point, which was brought up at VIA Technology Forum. The graphics cores currently integrated in PM133 and KM133 chipsets represent a combination of Savage4 and Savage2000 (3D part is borrowed from Savage4 and 2D part - from Savage2000). Although, VIA is also planning to integrate Savage2000 as it is a bit later, but that will hardly have anything to do with Paramount. The latter is supposed to be aimed at the mobile market and to be used in chipsets for notebooks.
