still a ways to go perhaps
this was Wordon (TC2000) report last night -
Assessing the Ground Below

For the Nasdaq, the August low has failed on a closing basis. Next test is the May low. However, lows don't make good, permanent support levels. So we may as well assume the May lows will fail. We now think our original worst-case projection last March of something approximating last year's highs seems logical. That would be down around 2800. The Dow is in a little sidewise cluster that looks like a typical continuation pattern (on the downside). The 27-day TSV has formed a positive divergence, which offers some hope – but the negatives outweigh. If the Dow breaks out on the downside, we doubt that the spring lows will hold. We wouldn't have much more confidence in the March lows. The 1998 highs (around 9200) could be where the winning stand is held. That's quite a way down.

I am a humble student of the market, so please do not think I am making fun or whatever just because I post on CFZone.

I just wanted to humbly compliment you on your post that you will be getting out on strength. History tells us that in permabulls are like frogs put in cold water that is then heated to boiling -- they do not notice until it is too late.

Live to invest another day. Great advice.

I expect a little more down, then a small rally that will setup a larger downturn, bwthdik.

All the best. --Allan

edit: My apologies. I screwed up and thought I was PM'ing freeus. I had no intention of posting to the thread.

Hi Freeus:

I feel for you. Seems as though we were invincible come the beginning of the year. Year 2000 was a lesson in humility and coming to terms with our own financial mortality. Set back two years. One the other hand, I was able to draw a "salary" from selling options on a regular basis.

Naz down 8 out of nine days in a row. There has to be a break comming our way soon.
