Darrell, RE: do you believe, as some do, that collective market manipulation is practically impossible?

That one.

In fact, I take it one step further.

If your time horizon is longer than thirty minutes, collective market manipulation is impossible.

edit: To elaborate, I consider the Opco analyst's statements as meaningless blather. Note that at the same time as this Opco analyst negative musings, Abby Cohen said that this is a great opportunity. And I would argue that Abby is much more influential than a technical analyst from Opco.

darrell.....re: "one act feeds on another..."

you are grasping another important point, perhaps there is hope!

momentum in either direction is difficult to stop and reverse on a long term basis. short term the ebb and flow is more noticeable. the key to investing in the new markets is to take profits and be satisfied with your pre set objectives. why keep large sums of monies invested with no or even negative return. isn't that why "mikey" cashes out?? the ceo takes money off the table on a programmed basis...why not the shareholders?
