I leave specifics to the give and take of politics. I will say that I think it is usually not hard to see which proposals will erode parental rights or put a strain on the family budget. As I said, consensual standards apply in the framing of policy, and everyone gets a shot at persuasion.

It may be that prayer before games is unconstitutional, at least if required by the coach. I am interested in other things that I do not think "rise to the level" of constitutional offense. In any event, I want to see judges appointed who will interpret law relatively narrowly, rather than making law from the bench, and who will take a reasonable view of the application of the Bill of Rights, rather than using it as an entering wedge for liberal policy that has failed at the polls.........
