cause every body does it doesn't make it right. I for one doubt that conflicts of interest can be eliminated with this activity going on. Say I'm a manager. I invest in a company we do business with. I then remove myself from the decision making process. (right there the company suffers) Then I give my decision making power to a someone else in my department. They must now of my investment. They will feel the pressure to choose the supplier I invested in.
I will bet that in about 2 years when the bulk of this market bubble has popped and there are a lot of unhappy investors out there, you will see many class action suits and investigation looking into the business practices of many of the high flying stocks. Also, the directors will be probed. This types of sweet little deals will be tough to explain to a public that has lost a pile of money.

If these directors and managers were congressmen and they made decisions on who gets government contracts would that be okay? Would you not think that the public trust is in jeopardy?
