Cornbread: I suspect there will be a bunch of margin calls after today as well. Lots of folks may be reaching their sell stops in here now that we are below 3500. So, we may go a bit lower.

I thought there was a fair chance the Feds would go neutral. Oh well....

Interesting that on a day when the Nasdaq breaks support there was plenty of positive news. The Semiconductor Industry Association reported that worldwide chip sales reached a high of $18.19 billion in August, an increase of 52.7% from the $11.91 billion registered during the same period last year. Goldman's Abby Joseph Cohen said the deceleration in economic growth would prolong the profit expansion. Laura Conigliaro said things are looking up for November and December and made positive comments on the networking equipment stocks.
