Responding to a 3rd class company like CA would be a foolish move by "the market". CA's problems are CA's problems.

True. Even if it linked to IBM somehow---i guess they IBM products as well---it still is the PC sector that has been hit already. The worries about IBM may have kept some out of market--waiting for better opportunities. That can't last much longer IMHO.

It is just a general selling of tech on momentum and once it turns, it should be big. Lets hope tomorrow is the day---I think it will be.

Quick, name one of their products

I can't.<g>

Downsouth and Thread,

Just found out that the Cisco Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday November 14 and Fall Comdex Las Vegas runs between November 12 through 17.

I usually go to both. What a screw-up! Last year CEO John Chambers was one of the keynote speakers at Comdex, hence no conflict. I am ticked! They could have asked me....humble carl

PS: Don't give me any stuff about November 7 being out because of Election Day! Absentee voting can take care of that problem. A damn bad choice, but I will not 'flood' the market with my CSCO stock holdings, as the stock is low enough! <vbg>

Quick, name one of their products

The first name to come to mind was the Bedford accounting package, a low-cost replacement for ACC-PAC, quite popular a decade or so ago. Come to think of it, ACC-PAC is another product taken over by CA.

But, on the other hand, I may very well be wrong about both these products: One, my memory's shot; two, I don't follow CA at all and only catch the quickest of peeks at their advertising as I flip the magazine page.

Perhaps someone who knows CA well can fill us in. I believe Edwarda was well informed about them and offered her opinions freely before her passing.

Cheers, PW.
