yeah it's jesse "the body" ventura.

The guy is very honest. In the summer of 98 I saw him speak in person. This was early when he decided to run for gov. I was in college at the time and they announced on a Thursday night he would be there on Friday afternoon. They planned on using a room that held about 100 people, but so many showed up they had to move him to an auditorium. Minutes before I got stoned out of my mind and sat in the very front row with a buddy about 10 feet from the body. He talked very straight forward for about 30 minutes and then opened it up for questions. The students asked questions about things like financial aid and issues important to college age kids. I was surprised by his answers. Most politicians would dodge the tough questions and try to give a neutral answer that both sides would like. He gave answers that were honest and not what college students wanted to hear. To financial aid he refered to it as "a big state sponsered party". 40% graduation rate that is state funded. I've seen jesse jackson, mike dukakis, bush Sr., reagon, and clinton all speak and I've never seen them answer questions like jesse. He would answer a yes/no question with "no" or "yes" and say, "next question". (it's also amazing to note the young people voted him in even though the other 2 candidates had more "friendly" platforms for gov handouts for young people)

In the debates that followed as the election neared, he destroyed the dems and republicans. The national news media makes him look like a clown, but that is far from the truth. In his book he sums up his viewpoints on various issues in only a paragragh per issue and it's very clear where he stands. The guy could honestly have won the president this year if he would run. I give him a 50% shot if he runs 3rd party with a good running mate in 2004.
