One of the liberal analysts ... might have been on Charlie Rose's show on PBS... said after the debate that he now expects Gore to move beyond the statistical ties and open up a bonafide lead again. The analyst did point out, correctly, that Gore had been experiencing a slight surge in the polls the past four or five days. We shall see. George Mitchell emphasized after the debate on Charlie Rose's show that if Gore keeps the "regular Democrats" excited enough to vote on Nov. 7, he should win. I think I agree with that statement ... to the extent that Gore's main focus should be those traditional Democrats ... as opposed to the so-called independents.
