re:inflation What infuriates me is the government is one of the main causes of inflation. Oil: Taxes on oil at the pump, refusal to allow continued drilling and use of our own resources. Medical costs: Doctors and hospitals have told me that bills are about 30% higher because of government red tape, regulations and medicare and medicaid programs. Food: Constant aid to farmers, manipulation of stores of products, and overregulation adds to cost. Schools and colleges: government aid and government strings that go with it have cost skyrocketing cost at all levels. Competition brings prices down: government brings it back up.
