partial birth abortion. It makes up a tiny number compared with first trimester abortions. It is supposed
to be reserved for women who , for medical reasons should not continue with it... If a choice is to be made, always save the mother's life first.

The number of them performed is small but I am not sure it would be accurate to call it tiny. I also think it is almost never necessary to perform such a procedure to save the mother's life. (In addition most supporters of a ban would vote for such a ban with an exception in cases where the procedure is necessary to save the mothers life. (if there are any such cases))

David,

Nice display of cognitive maneuvering around the issue.

I ask you, as a physician, to provide me a clear-cut example where a women's life would be endangered by natural childbirth, but NOT a PBA, which is essentially a pre-empted, breech birth (which are traditionally more dangerous for the mother).

Don't evade, distort, or obfuscate... Just please consult your medical journals and provide me a clear-cut case where a such a procedure as PBA is necessary to preserve the mother's life.

I'm not a doctor, so I really need your experience and knowledge in helping me to clarify my beliefs and understanding on the procedure.

Regards,

Ron

Dave , Ron and I have had quite an argument about this. In spite of no medical training he insists that there can be no circumstances where a pba can save a woman from injury....I say leave this up to the attending doctor.

As a physician in your opinion can a pba prevent injury or death?
