The only problem with the "largest ever" ozone hole is that we have no idea of the range of natural fluctuations in the size of the hole. The odds are that it has been much larger and much smaller even before the emergence of man. All of the "possible" culprits are such based on theory and not scientific certainty. This is junk science of the first order. The culprit is the way the hard science get reported.

The Ozone hole was there eight years ago. Earth was in the balance an Clinton-Gore were there. Now the hole is bigger than ever!

So even the Ozone hole couldn't get help from Al. Bill was unfortunately concentrating on the wrong hole.
