Scumbria,

Intel is building DDR chipsets for P4. The word "probably" clearly indicates some uncertainty about the DRAM configuration. Nevertheless, chances are it will use two connections. I doubt that the P4 bus can even support a single DRAM connection.

How could have interpreted my comment as misleading? You are looking very hard to find something that isn't there.

Again, Intel has not said anything building DDR chipsets for all P4s, just one configuration -- the server version. Unless you have more information than has been published, your statement ("Intel is building DDR chipsets for P4") is incorrect. It's too broad. I'm not trying to nail you with anything -- the first time I raised the issue I was simply asking for clarification; were you talking about the server version of the P4, or were you making a broader statement. If you had said "the server version", it would have been the end of the conversation. If you want to claim that Intel is making DDR chipsets for more than the servers (e.g. desktops), I'd like to see a link to that information.

That Intel is working on a DDR chipset for servers is fact. Unless you can provide a link for broader support of DDR, your statement is your opinion (but you state it as if it were fact).
