GaAs competition summary... - Tonytechcomm maps the RFMD competition. Tony's probably long RFMD and TQNT but gives the other players their due: ... If you're talking PAs, everyone's making them. The competition includes: CNXT, TQNT, ANAD, AHAA and CLTK -- probably roughly in that order at this state. Make no mistake though. RFMD is currently in the lead here and as far as RF handset components, the PA is still where the revenues and margins are. TQNT is easily the biggest competition on receive-side components and AHAA is the biggest competitor on handset switches. That pretty much covers the handset market. Given RFMD's rapid move into cable boxes, their biggest competitors are probably ANAD and maybe CNXT. ANAD likely still gets the most cable revenues of any of the major GaAs/signal-oriented players. I put a post up on the TQNT board this morning regarding some of these issues, trying to even further clarify the mistakes in that article that was reference many times here. As RFMD gets into the optical market, they will compete directly with: AMCC, VTSS, TQNT, ANAD and AHAA. Most of those companies have big head-starts though. ... messages.yahoo.com
