while Ariba and Commerce One are expected to near break-even in 2001.

James - with my own business (Softagon Corporation), if I expected to lose money this year and be only "near break-even" next year, well, I'd be sending out resumes at the moment. But I guess by new economy measures, this would be extremely short-sighted of me to be so focused on profits.

I wouldn't think too much about stated profits. Unless I'm hard of hearing, Ariba has been throwing off cash in each of the past 11 quarters. That's nearly as long as the company has existed. In the beginning they burned only $12 million before they started generating cash.

That's from the company.
