present school system just puts them in a box....beats them back in the box...
I think tech companies should draft them out of highschool... like NBA free agents....

ike, I was actually being a little facitious. Given the enormous challenges our public school system faces, I give it a lot of credit.

For example, in the San Jose school system, over 100 languages are spoken at home. How any learning can take place under those circumstances, I'll never know.

And I suppose that impy will say that San Jose's language situation proves his point about immigration. However, the immigration measure Congress just passed is precisely the kind of measure that is NOT contributing to San Jose's language situation. That measure allows for the kind of immigration this country desperately needs.

OTOH, uncontrolled immigration does have its advantages. I would hate to think how much my gardening and cleaning services might cost otherwise. Seeya!

um, what are your issues with the school system ?

Poor teaching and the lack of ability to attract the top talent as teachers.
