Bob, Do you think that you can say the same about SUNW at this time. Have you seen ORCL this week. How much longer do you think SUNW will keep sporting a forward PE of 65. >

About 1/2 the good services list the current pe of orcl at ~29.

This discrepancy arrises, if memory serves, because of the treatment of the sale of 12% of Oracle Japan, that was required under Japanese Law. If the rest of OJ were sold, it would represent either a substantial reduction in the P/E to about what, 2? or a substantial CASH value distribution.

IF this is correct, then it should be contemplated in discussions of future p/e's

ORCL top line revenue growth should acclerate in the future. Therefore, it demands a higher p/e. BTW, refer to last weeks Barrons article regarding ORCL as one of the horsemen for the internet. MSFT was not mentioned.

SUNW p/e is high just as ORCL's and thats what causes volatility. What are these companies actually worth? Noone really knows but the market will pay for accelerating top and bottom line growth. ORCL and SUNW exemplify these types of companies. MSFT does not.

Is ORCL, MSFT and SUNW overpriced. The market said/says yes over the past month or so. So I guess they were because the market is always right. Next month is anyones guess. Staying long.

Bob.
