Chicagoland residents will have the opportunity to experience

Woodfield Mall, Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8. The
hands-on exhibit boasts state-of-the-art computers, interactive games
and leading computer experts.
Co-sponsored by Excite@Home and Cisco Systems, the mall tour will

and offer training on how to master the Internet. The weekend
activities will include four (4) kiosks with 16 demonstration sites
fully equipped with high speed Internet accessible computers,
children's activities, on-site experts to answer questions and
Whirlpool's computer-equipped Internet home refrigerator that keeps an
inventory on food by scanning bar codes and automatically places
restocking orders over the Internet to the supermarket.
Consumers can register to win a vacation in picturesque Aruba.
Additionally, they can win prizes during the day by playing on-site
games including, karaoke, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and more.

Internet experts will present seminars on various topics
including:

"Kids on the Net": Help your children get the most from the
Internet. Learn about educational Web sites, using the Internet
effectively for research and school projects, parental control
software, and guiding your child's online experience.

"Intertainment - Having Fun on the Net": The Web is not just a
place to collect information anymore. Enjoy video on demand,
digital commercial free music, live television, radio from all
over the country, live concerts, animation, and more over the Net.
Learn how to download music, send voice and video mail, play
games, enter contests, and download and send photographs.

"Front Page": Learn to build your own personal Web page quickly
and easily with Microsoft's Front Page. This brings Web page
building to a whole new level of professionalism. Participants can
receive a free copy of Front Page for a 45-day trial period.

Building on the success of its 1998 and 1999 tour, this traveling
exposition visits 40 cities over a 20-week period through the fall of
2000. "The mall environment has proven to be a great venue to showcase
the power and speed of broadband Internet access," said Byron Smith,
executive vice president and chief marketing officer, consumer
broadband services for Excite@Home. "We believe that seeing is
believing so we are thrilled to bring this demonstration to one of
Chicago's most popular malls. The Broadband Internet Home Tour will
allow families to see how their lives can be enhanced through
broadband Internet access, and how quickly and easily broadband allows
them to shop, plan vacations, check movie times, research homework
assignments and perform many other activities."
"We're very excited about having the Internet Home Tour come to
the Chicagoland area for a second year," said Bob Krahman, Director of
@Home Marketing for AT&T Broadband in the Greater Chicago Market.
"Holding this event at Woodfield Mall allows us to expose even more
consumers to the power of the Internet delivered over Broadband."

Boy is it dead in here.

Ever felt like your swimming backwards?

It's been months since ATHM showed what it can do.

Where are all those trucks, anyway?
