Sylvester

A few days ago GP was bashing me for my higher estimate of the P4 launch. That estimate was based on The Register article of Jul 7. The article is proving prescient.

Sylvester,

Do you understand that the term "yield" refers only to numbers of functional die?

Without knowing the binsplits, you can not determine how many parts can actually be sold.

Any statements you make about the numbers of P4's are meaningless without this information.

You make so many meaningless statements, why should one more matter?

Re: Do the math and you will understand that the numbers are much higher than anyone expected

The Intel longs did the math over on the Intel thread and concluded that that rumor was nonsensical.

P4 may be doing very, very well in early production, but it isn't yielding 70% - in fact, if it's yielding 50% it would likely be exceeding expectations.
