I agree most hardly about the fall colours as I miss the Gatineau Hills around Ottawa. The blaze of colour has to be seen to be believed.
As you know, Canada and maple trees are hand in hand.

Good call today Mr V!!

Must be incredible.

Try it from a hot air balloon.
Talk about quiet flight.
That was the strangest feeling...

I'm surprised you never took that plane of yours up to the Adirondacks.
Lots of small air fields there.

I also get a kick out of the dudes with small sea planes who practice their touch-and-goes on the mirror-like surfaces.

Someday you'll have to pick up Dealie, and few others and take a trip up there. I'll pick you guys up at the air field in Schroon Lake.
I'll show you the sights. Lake Placid, Lake George, Whiteface Mountain, etc.
I'll show you how good I am at drowning worms.
There's also a lot of beautiful golf courses up there, smack dab in between the mountains.

We can also teach Dealie how to water ski...
:^)

Volt, there are plenty of maples in the Smokies. Maybe not quite as many as New England, but enough-plus the Southern Appalachians have more varieties of hardwood trees than anyplace on earth. I'll be living near THREE national forests, 2 of which are over 500,000 acres each. Oops, better shut up, don't want to many people to mover there-then it'll be like Florida.
