In fact it took a couple of days for the market to sell off in April after AJC made some bearish remarks so I tend to agree with you. Jorj mentioned this on another thread and I think he may be right... delayed reaction as the big boys re-shuffle positions.

Abby has been right the last couple of years even when some ridiculed her in late 1998. She appeared to be the lone bull on the market and we took off!
At that time, I believe Ralph Acampura and Abby Cohen were the most followed bulls. As soon as Ralph Acampura got bearish and the market went up....all we had was Abby as the real market guru. Acampura lost a lot of his credibility (unjustly IMHO). I have not seen him on CNBC lately making big market calls.

Now for some reason, this Ralph Bloch gets so much mention on CNBC. He basically says if the market is going up, it will keep going up and if it is going down, it keeps going down. What useless information!
At least Abby makes her statements clear of where the market is going. Ralph Bloch basically changes every few days and that is why he is not worth following.
He should make a prediction for year end and leave it at that and stop giving us this--we will get a trading rally....and a real rally if....
That is why it is useless. The media gives him too much attention---i realize he made bullish comments but anyone who does TA will come to the same conclusion. If they do...what is the predictive value of it.

No offense to TAs but I just don't believe in that stuff.
Abby is a fundamental analyst (as is Joe Battipaglia) and I like their year end forecasts. I don't mind bearish forecasts as long as they give real targets for the market and not the stuff we get from Ralph Bloch.

Abby is the most influential no matter what any of the other strategists have to say---including Ralph Bloch, Tom Galvin etc. She is now capable of causing a market crash....at least until she is proved to be have made a bad call on the market.
I am not refering to her stock picks--which basically come from GS analysts anyways---i am only referring to her market calls.
