Yep. Apps sales growth was 42% while database did 32%. Apps projections were for 50%-60%.

Management's response was that 11i is new and they need the first 20-30 customers to serve as references to scale the sales of the suite. The other thing is that they are selling the integrated suite piecemeal, or as the customer requires each module.

I watched Larry's speech at Oracle's big conference out West. He makes convincing arguments at times. But, I do think there is lots of value in knowing that 11i customers are not very happy. This is good scuttlebutt, and something that I plan to get better at. I just need to start calling people up to find a customer who will talk with me.

It may have very little impact on the stock price in the short-term, but it will have a huge impact long-term b/c expectations are built into the stock to have a certain level of apps. growth and contribution to the product mix. If they do not achieve that, then the stock is likely to fall and languish. If they execute, then there is plenty of upside b/c those expectations are likely below reality assuming reasonably good execution.
