Well, the two deals were just about 6 months apart. Assimilating 2 such sized companies in such a short period of time was extremely difficult and could have killed them. EP was an egomaniac - had to get to $50 billion sales by 1999. Current CPQ CEO deserves all the credit for sorting everything out, but, yes, I guess EP had to exhibit the cajones first. Tony
