I don't recall but food became more available and the world prospered. Warming here would make for a two crop growing season. Warm = evaporation = more rain. Now if we had global cooling and another Ice Age, think everything north of Arkansas under 100s of feet of ice. Damn little grown there.

I remember reading where Carter issued an EO that banned breeder reactors. Now they would have been the ticket to unlimited electric power but he was afraid of nuclear proliferation.
