but I've seen enough to know the manipulation will continue and want little or no part of it.

Rather doubt Dell is alone in this regard.

By the way, it is a balmy, sunny upper 80 degrees here in Round Rock Texas. The "Dell effect" has been very, very good to me in the real estate biz over the years here, and tomorrow, for the first time, I'll try to buy the stock from dumping institutions that don't play too well in AH.

PEG (at 25% growth say even $1.05 forward earnings, no debt, $2 or so p.s. cash) is less than one - this has now become a value play.

Sig: Of all the people, I am surprised that you sowered on this stock.
What difference it makes what the analysts say.
Even at the aftermarket low of 25, at .92 y2001 earnings the p/e is 27, with a lot going for this company.
Analysts don't have to tell us that this stock is a good buy at those prices.
A lot of people start saying the kid lied. He never said he will make it 30% for this quarter. Vanderslice did expect 10% quarter over quarter. Nobody believed that is possible.
Meathead even said for the year we may see 22% growth.
Under these market conditions what really matters is earnings.
We already have .41 for the first 2 quarters. 3Q whisper is .25 and we should be able to meet that. If they come up with .02 less for 4Q from whisper of .28, that is .92 for the year.
Even though I am a 8 p/e value investor, I don't see why I should not be keep on buying this stock.
I have to see bigger shocker than what is announced today for me to become a bear.
I remain bullish on this company.
GoooooooooooooooooooooDellllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!

Sig, I wish I was out of DELL myself but, unfortunately, holding, a significant chunk of 03-40 leaps. At least I can sell calls against this position.

I've believe that DEll the company has outgrown Michael Dell the entrepreneur. A few years ago Michael Dell could do no wrong. The company was much smaller and the organization structure much flatter. Ergo, Michael had a greater understanding of what was going on in his company. No longer! His management group is not keeping him informed on a timely basis and/or Mr Dell is making public statements without the facts. Either way, the board of directors have to do something to restore credibility. Boot Michael up to chairman and recruit a new CEO and management team.

Ironically, I bet Eckhard Pfeiffer is smiling at this tun of events.

Regards, Gabriel
