I think people here are being a bit too sensitive. I asked Reid if he'd like to engage in a little experiment to see how well his technique actually works. I've gotten flamed by DA and gotten a very rude PM by some total idiot.

The proposal was made to Reid, who can accept it or ignore it as he deems fit. I thought it was a good idea, but obviously a lot of people seem to be defensive about it. I don't want anyone holding my stem, er, ah hand. I don't need an investment advisor and don't view Reid as an investment advisor. I just was interested in putting a quantitative spin on what he's doing, i.e. measuring to see if his signals work, and if they work better than chance, than how much better. God forbid by doing my experiment that he or someone else might discover something that would improve the system....but I guess the defensive folks didn't even consider that there was a possible positive outcome from my suggestion.

The negative response tells me that a lot of people want to believe in something whether or not in reality it's good or bad or indifferent. I think it says a lot, not about me, but about them.

Oh well, let's forget about the whole thing. Sorry I even brought it up.
