Charles. Are you going to buy your next PC from Compaq because Dell missed their revenue numbers but made their earnings? Do you think that large corporations who are planning their PC buying will now change their buying plans for 4th qtr because Dell's revenue has been less than expected for 2qtrs going? i'm not justifying this company. but losing 3% revenue per week must have a reason. since Dell's sales in Asia and the America's remain "strong", that means the sales are above expectations here. Europe's sales, however, remain below even the lowered expectations...just as Kumar accurately predicted. if Kumar considered Dell a buy at $36, what does he think now? Kumar is the new PC guru. He wins. Institutions win. Micheal wins. Dell's business continues to win. the small shareholders lose. Europe is heading back to the horse and buggy days...we all know that now. Even though 85% of the world's population remains without a personal computer, none of the 85% can afford a computer. They can afford beer after work, but not a computer. None of them will buy one. they're all broke. they all purchased Dell's stock in the $50s. Forget about IDC's growth trends. Forget about research period. It's how I feel about a company that determines whether I buy it or not. I feel that Dell's sales will fall apart, therefore am justified by selling. It doesn't matter that sales are not falling apart. If we all feel the same way, then it's justified.
