Darrell,

If DELL does 1.04 next year, the pe would be so much lower based on what Kumar would say/investors would do to the stock. Let the children expect it....then when DELL actually does better, they can all upgrade......call DELL the turn around story of the new Millennuim....watch DELL's stock price rise and they will be called geniuses again!

Can you even imagine the implosion that would have to occur for DELL to do 12%???

But, in spite of this, I'm considering donning a pair of udders, mooing in the morning and joining the herd mentality by saying good-bye to this puppy. I tired of saying, "Damn, I should have sold off when DELL was _____"

How many UP days since August? How many "warnings", revenue or otherwise which WS refuses to look at in a comparative sense.

It will be an uncomfortable night weighing the benefits of staying long vs, the benefits of selling with it's associated tax burden.

Maybe I should just imbibe heavily tonight and not wake up until Friday.

Doody,
Kaka

D: $1.22 expectation is for fiscal year 2002. This year it was .92-.93. With Dell's caution, I will put it at .91.
After 2Q earnings announcement I wasn't sure Dell can do better than .87.
Looks like they will do .91-..92.
I am surprised that they try to be as accurate as to the penny. That shows they are really keeping very close eye on things.
After .25 for 3Q, current p/e will be .32 aND Y2001 P/E 27 AT AFTERMARKET PRICE.
