I think the Naz woods include at least one trip below 3000.

It has been less than a year since it last closed at that level (early Nov. 99).

Before that it was almost always below that level.

I just don't see how it is possible that we are out of the Naz woods yet. INTC warned, DELL warned, MSFT is a basketcase, is CSCO the last of the old 4 horseman to pull up lame? Probably not, they will most likely beat by their usual penny, but I doubt that will be enough to hold up the NAZ. Being a cap weighted index, I think we'll need a few more rinse cycles get the Naz out of a trading range.
