Not really, SS overflow should be invested in treasuries or inflation adjusted treasuries. I don't know why the Governor claimed that these funds bring only 2%, they should yield between 5% to 6%. Just because we had some 15years of very good returns from equities does not mean that the next 15 years will be the same. As a matter of fact, between 1966 and 1982, a period of 16 years, the Dow was "stuck" between 500 and a 1000, we could easily go back into such a period. Just look at the nikkei and compare their 1989 peak of 40,000 with today's 16,000. Is that what you want retirement funds to do?

The governors "fuzzy math" was nothing but demagoguery, no different that his "subliminal "rats" and subliminal "education recession". We deserve better.

And that is coming from someone who was registered as a Republican since 1985.
