8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day,
and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."

But wait, God was walking through the Garden of Eden (Adam and Eve hear his footsteps and hid). He seemed to be talking directly to them. Why didn't they die then. I'm also kinda confused that God had to ask where they were since he is all-knowing. I want to be a good person, but it's way to much work trying to make sense of all of this. I think I'll just settle for compassion - it's a lot easier to grasp.

Today, I saw an hispanic gentlemen who had a picture of the Virgin Mary in the back window of his pickup. Now, I'm even more confused by her. Catholics seem to like her almost as much as Jesus, or so it would seem. Fundamentalists hardly ever talk about her. Again confusion. Having the same story told over and over in multiple versions with different details just leaves me confused more.

I don't think I'm a dumb person but, I want my religion no more difficult than physics. I can pass the first three years of physics with equations that will fit on a 5x7 card (front and back if I write small). My Numerical Analysis instructor allowed us a 5x7 and I was able to put all my equations on that. I just threw that card away in my last job change. Really. It was very useful.
