I think I do get it. It's not my point that Reid needs to prove anything--it's that in the process of doing the exercise you might learn something. It's that learning something that isn't effective is wasting your time or deluding yourself--why not find out if what you think works does in fact work? And if it works, how well it works. I thought I raised the issue in a respectful and non-threatening way--what I don't get is why people get so defensive and/or uptight----To me it says that people are afraid to learn the truth. Know the truth, and the truth shall set you free, they say.

If there were computers and SI in the Middle Ages, perhaps there would have been a blood letting technique thread, discussing the best ways to enter veins and how long to do it. If someone suggested tracking results and they'd done so, perhaps they'd have killed a lot less people?

But I do get that Reid and most people here don't want to follow my suggestion. It's just the real reason(s) behind it that I suppose we disagree on.

As for being demanding, I understand that Reid doesn't want to do it and it won't happen, so explain to me how I'm demanding? As to being constructive, I think the suggestion was one of the most constructive post ever made on this thread. And I say that in a friendly way. ;-)
