Sorry, Chris Matthews is not a conservative. He spent many years in D.C. working for a guy named Tip O'Neil, Speaker of the Democrat-controlled House for many years. Chris is no fan of Clinton or Gore but a supporter of his party (Dems). Sorry to butt in but wished to clarify that single point.

I agree with you. I wonder what Bush would do when the German decide to "complete" unification and absorbs parts of what is now Poland and Russia. German interests have acquired many of the small businesses in Silesia, and you can get a job there only if you can show "German heritage", those considered "poles" are simply unemployed. I am told that unemployment in that region is reaching 30% due to this stealth annexation. Similarly, German interests are buying any available land in and around Gdansk (used to be Danzig), probably in preparation for another annexation move post a "plebicite". The media is strangely silent about this, I wonder why?

To say Bush is not well versed in current affairs is quite a puzzle.

It appears to me that both Gore and Bush are well versed in current affairs; however, their being well versed does not translate, necessarily, into similar views and approaches.
