Hi jim kelley; Re: "Why does Micron want RAMBUS to pay for its DDR development costs?"

Someone should write a book. "Lawyers Say the Darndest Things". But the fact is that the Micron lawyers named every possible reason they shouldn't have to pay royalties on SDRAM or DDR. Some of those reasons are a contradiction of other reasons. Big deal, Micron only has to come up with one valid reason why they shouldn't have to pay royalties. [The legal system for this sort of thing acts like an expensive, big, slow NOR gate.] Judges will understand, but it can be confusing to mom and pop juries. Naturally, they are going to take as many chances as they can.
