Hi Jdaasoc; Re: "Are there any multi channel SDRAM systems that have higher performance strictly from a faster memory channel throughput."

Do you actually mean to say "multi channel SDRAM DIMM" systems in the above? If you mean what you literally wrote, then the Nvidia systems are perfect examples, with x128 memory interfaces.

If you want to look at DIMM systems, the links I gave you to SUN workstations was an example. While the dual (and quad) DIMM systems allow larger memory capacity, they undoubtedly also allow higher memory bandwidth, and the SUN processors do use this bandwidth.

Re: So it seems multiple SDRAM channel systems do exist but they don't add any benefits performance wise

I thought differently about my post a few hours later. The GX multiplexed the data lines while have individual control lines. So it wasn't a full quad channel chipset.

The GX interleaved the memory, permitting more open banks and indefinite streaming.

Rambus is actually a subset of the functionality of such a motherboard in many ways. Say, what does that do to the prior art issue...
