Mike, I guess he wants the whole enchilada, and has taken the risk of going after it all. I would think he could not do it, but Larry has not gone broke yet.

I am a about 3% under on the ORCL I own, it is about a 5% portfolio position, and I think I will hang on.

He has alienated his competitors because he does not wish to be a part of their value chain, except at the platform level.

But he effectively forms alliances and does interface certification of the niche solution players where ORCL does not have a competing product. Its a little scarry for them though. But his competitors are much scarrier to the niche players and downright uncooperative.
