It's October, every major crash has occurred in October. If you look at the historical October performance of the whole market, it isn't great. Loss selling for January effect may have to do with the October effect. I don't generally panic when I experience mild setbacks in my portfolio at this time of year.

Boy, talk about a hot subject. There was an article listing earnings by major bank in yesterdays WSJ. FBF came out sounding pretty good.
