Dataquest says RDRAM to grow more than twice as fast as DDR for the next 3 year. (and that was before they knew about the DDR stability and compatibility problems - I think now RDRAM will grow 10 times as fast).

Not necessarily. For example, small errors in input capacitance can be compensated for in the RIMM layout.
