Greg, I understand your feelings on LU.
A number of months ago I bought my first d(and I expect my last for some time)LU shares based on the expectation that after LU missing it's Q would rethink their positioning and respond to CSCO and NT. Needless to say the two companies are eating LU's lunch.

DS Uniphase Ex-CEO Exercised $106M Of Options In FY2000

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU) former Co-Chairman and
Chief Executive Kevin Kalkhoven exercised options for 2.4 million shares of
common stock during the fiscal year ended June 30 for total proceeds of $106.2
million, according to a preliminary proxy statement filed Friday with the
Securities and Exchange Commission.
As reported on May 18, Kalkhoven retired from both positions and will remain
as an adviser on strategic matters through the end of fiscal 2001.
According to the filing, as of June 30, Kalkhoven held exercisable options
for 6.6 million shares valued at $782.6 million and unexercisable options for
another 4.8 million shares valued at $495.4 million.
The filing also said Senior Vice President and President, Semiconductor
Group Dan Pettit exercised options for 2.1 million shares of stock during
fiscal 2000 for proceeds of $121.3 million.
As of June 30, Pettit held exercisable options for 1.1 million shares valued
at $127.9 million and unexercisable options for another 1.7 million shares
valued at $179.5 million.
According to the filing, Pettit retired from his position in September
effective January 2001. For fiscal 2001 Pettit isn't eligible to receive a
bonus.
JDS Uniphase makes laser subsystems and equipment for fiber-optic
telecommunications, signal processing and laser-based semiconductor wafer
inspection and analysis.
