I have always thought SS funds could serve an excellent purpose if invested in local municipal bond projects. Infrastructures (at least in my area) are in need of extensive repairs. Even school bonds financed at 2-4% would serve both the community and the retiree. ??

Neocon, Bush stated quite clearly, one out of every six dollars would go to self directed retirement funds. Go to pbs.org and you will find a transcript of the debate.
