BTW - when the institutions have sold out completely and are looking to reload, look for downgrades to multiply to know the coast is safe(r) for PC related stuff.

Also, let's not forget that the vast majority of tax loss selling this year will be concentrated in the techs - unlike the last several years. Also remember, many of the big boy techs (INTC, MSFT, DELL) have been meeting estimates by timing the recognition of investment gains in the little boys. Given the little boys are for the most part taking a schit...

Lastly, let's not forget the BIG bucks MSFT, DELL and the like made in 1999 and earlier selling naked puts on their own stocks (not taxable to boot!). The days of pocketing those premiums to juice earnings owing to a stock that always goes up have been numbered in 2000.

Used to be we could just load up on name brand techs when sentiment dictated, but even those aren't acting reliably.
