The likelihood is that this is indeed what has happened. Markets are overreacting to this information from Dell.

Consider the fact that INTC warned and it killed the markets, but AMD is in fine fettle. Considering that CPQ gets most of their chips from AMD, I'd say that's a good sign that this is pure overreaction.

Hi Dan - you are absolutely right about this is the weakest season in Europe, even without the weak Euro. However, I don't think your COMS/CSCO analogy could apply to CPQ/DELL. At the box level, I think CPQ and DELL will hold their own. So, it is not like CSCO eating COMS lunch scenario. That said, to repeat the wisdom mentioned here before, CPQ is in the cusp of a powerful rebound after yrs of mismanagement while DELL unfortunately is hitting the ceiling. The former is like an unexplored mountain with rich gem and mineral potentials while the latter's terrain has been explored with a fine tooth comb! What are some of these gems and minerals. Wildfire and IPaQ are 2 of the up and comers.

I am not concerned about this up 2 and down 2 volatility. And I don't have a tendency of comparing CPQ with DELL moment by moment with minutae details. CPQ can stand on her own legs and patient investors who bought even at the recovery high, like me, will be handsomely rewarded

best, Bosco
