Gore lumped in anticipated loss of revenue through the phaseout of estate taxes, while implying that he was talking about relief in income taxes. This is deliberately misleading. Additionally, since the heirs profit from the bequests, and there may be many heirs in various financial conditions, it is impossible to calculate whether the benefit of the estate tax would go to the wealthy. I would consider such a deliberately misleading analysis to be a lie, yes.

If I told you that I knew Charleton Heston, without mentioning that I had merely met him once at a conservative conference, and proceeded to speak as if he and I were intimate, and I were privy to personal information not commonly available, would I be a liar?
