hi gottfried

re, "It amuses me to think what kind of person programmed this"......

i had the same exact thought as i perused the dell knowledge base and began to read about their restore utility called zztop. here's an excerpt:

******************************
"The zztop file on the Resource CD is compressed and needs to be expanded before it will execute the restore program. You will need a blank formatted floppy disk to complete the following steps. To expand the files, type the following commands at the DOS prompt:

cd hddutil\zztop [Enter]
copy zztop.exe c:\ [Enter]
c:[Enter]
zztop [Enter]"
**********************************

so now we have this image of programmers with long beards and sunglasses cruising down the road in their V-8 ford with a fine fox in front and two more in the back...

:)
