Thread;

Probably the most unfortunate aspect of this tremendous drop in cpq share price is that any good news when earnings are released will, at best, get the stock nowhere near where it should be. Lets face it we are once again back to an uphill battle just to reach 30.

Furthermore, it is really depressing to see so much progress having been made at cpq and have the stock price be about where it was when MC was first hired as ceo. Three quarters of progress, meeting earnings and building credibility have resulted in no increase in stock price. Remember, this stock was 33 in march!!

Michael - I'm taking advantage of this - I sold a bunch of my SUNW 2002 LEAPs late yesterday - nearly a 4 bagger - and early today and am buying CPQ 2002 30 LEAPs - the WKPAF - currently a "blue light special". And buying April 2001 27.5 CPQDY calls, also a good buy. I have faith that CPQ will deliver the numbers. No such faith in DELL after yesterday. They still have not adjusted earnings guidance, which may or may not be a good move. My sense is that DELL will do a replay of CPQ in 1999, slowly drifting down on any negative and not coming back up with the positives, at least for another 6 months.
